FAQ

Storm & Hail Damage Repair questions

When is hail season in Georgia?

The National Weather Service office in Peachtree City reports that nearly all hailstorms in its area happen between February and August, with April the most common month, usually in the afternoon or evening.

How do I know if hail damaged my roof?

Hail damage is often invisible from the ground. Dented gutters, downspouts, vents or AC fins are a clue. A free inspection with photos will tell you for certain.

Can you handle my insurance claim for me?

No. Under Georgia law (O.C.G.A. § 10-1-393.12), a residential roofing contractor can’t represent you or negotiate your insurance claim. You file and manage the claim with your insurer. We can provide photos and a written estimate, and explain that estimate to you or your adjuster.

What if my insurer denies the claim after I sign a contract?

Georgia law gives you the right to cancel a roofing contract paid from insurance proceeds until midnight of the fifth business day after your insurer notifies you in writing that all or part of the claim is denied. Your contract must include a notice explaining this right.

How do I avoid storm-chasing roofers?

Hire a local company with a physical address, check its BBB profile and reviews, never sign anything on the spot after a storm, and be wary of anyone who offers to negotiate your claim or waive your deductible.
